   2009 Yamaha VX110 Not Charging Battery

   I have a 2009 Yamaha VX110 & the battery is not being charged during operation. I have come across this a couple of times before on other VX's I have owned & all I did was repalace the stator...problem solved. This time not the case??? New Stator = not charging, I tried a new voltage regulator & that didn't solve the problem. Any suggestions?? I'm thinking that maby the wire harness has a problem since the VX's have had harness issues in the past. ???

   did you checked the plug prongs connecting to the voltage regulator? they tend to overheat and burn.
   most of the time a fried stator or voltage regulator is tracked back to dirty corroded battery terminals, weak battery or corroded battery cables at the terminals, the charging power goes nowhere and burn the components.

   I figured out what the problem was.........a severed wire in the wire harness coming off the electrical box.
