There are a couple other Factory vs. RR/RF threads floating around here where people weigh in. This is the first I found but it's not the only.http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...s-2016-RSV4-RR

^^ What he said, plus to sweeten the deal, you can now get a new RF for the price of and RR! At least on this side of the pond anyway.

Couple of extras that you may end up buying a RF :
1. You definetely feel the difference on the power,
2. Electronics works way better, TC is really sensitive, you can feel any adjustment difference,
3. Ohlins are perfect, even with a street setup bike runs perfect, you can see it on the tire wear pattern,
4. RF comes with just one color scheme and it is the best scheme (for me),
5. Forged aluminum wheels![]()

Not sure I agree with the "thousands less" point? There's only 1 2014 Factory on Cycle Trader under $14k and it looks a little rough. The three best options are $20.5k, $17.5k+ and $14.5 respectfully. A new RF is less than two of those. I guess if you look long enough, you can find one for a lot less? However, the other points I cant argue with.

I would get the 14. Here's why:
- Motor reliability, and overall reliability is more proven, new 16+ has had some valve problems and other teething issues
- 14 MY parts are much cheaper and easier to find
- Aftermarket options much cheaper and more options
- 14 MY thousands less than a 16
- MY 17 coming out in the Spring with significant refinements![]()
